A Curious Experience Some Might Call Mystical
TCL 016: The key to unlocking deep states of meditation may not be what you think!
Many years ago…
At the end of a 2-week meditation group retreat, I had a very special experience that changed my life forever.
This experience, I believe, was one 1/2 of the key to unlocking deep states of meditation consistently.
The other half is journalling but in a very specific way.
And when combined in the right way, meditation and journalling form a powerful virtuous cycle that results in you going deeper and deeper into meditation consistently naturally.
That is why I am sharing this with you today.
But first…
Some background to set the context.
Just in case you think I was destined for this kind of experience and therefore you are precluded from something similar, I want you to know this is not true.
In fact, for many years I suffered from depression and anxiety, and quite serious depression too.
Looking back now I would say I was a very sad and lonely kid that grew into a sad and lonely young adult.
To say I was lost would be bang-on right!
But I was also determined to make my life meaningful.
And luckily I found my way to a spiritual path. So the story has a happy ending.
